Dickson & Fabra 2013 FMCAfam 43
Parents disputed arrangements for their son aged 9 years. The father was diagnosed with hydrocephalus that impacted on his personality leading to a rigid and obsessive style of interacting with people (personality rigid). This condition led to the father being reliable and punctual and attentive to details. The condition also led to the father becoming preoccupied with minor details, having limited introspection, limited insight into the emotional sensitivities of other people, being intrusive towards his son, and having lacked insight into how his behaviour contributed to difficulties (parenting style rigid). The son reported that his father told him what to think and to say.
The judge ordered that the mother have sole parental responsibility and that the son live with the mother and spend time with the father.
